MedShr to partner with CRF for TCT 2018 in San Diego

MedShr to partner with CRF for TCT 2018 in San Diego

30 August, 2018

MedShr, The App for Doctors, has partnered with the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) for TCT 2018, the world’s largest and most important educational meeting specializing in interventional cardiovascular medicine. MedShr is supporting TCT 2018 by helping to connect practicing physicians, academic researchers and allied health professionals through clinical case discussion on the app.

For 30 years, TCT has been the centre of new cutting-edge educational content, showcasing the latest advances in current therapies and clinical research. The meeting offers numerous interactive and case-based learning workshops to help delegates gain new skills they can apply immediately in their daily practice. MedShr gives delegates the opportunity to stay connected after the event and discuss techniques learned at the meeting or best practice relating to their own clinical cases, to help improve care for their patients.

Many doctors today are sharing clinical cases via Twitter, Facebook or WhatsApp. While social media is a convenient channel, it breaches patient privacy and confidentiality regulations. MedShr is a private and professional network for verified medical professionals. It allows doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals to share knowledge in a safe, HIPAA and GMC compliant way.

To support and encourage medical education across the globe, MedShr is running three case competitions for TCT 2018 delegates. The best clinical case presentation and discussion will be announced at the conference, and the winner will receive a free subscription to TCTMD Gold, a tablet or a GoPro.

MedShr has previously partnered with the Cardiovascular Research Foundation on the Structural Heart Disease Summit 2018 and the Chronic Total Occlusion Summit 2018.

MedShr to award CPD accreditation to doctors for clinical case discussion

MedShr to award CPD accreditation to doctors for clinical case discussion

31 July , 2018

MedShr, the App for Doctors, has partnered with CPD UK to award CPD accreditation for clinical case discussion from 1st August 2018. This new development recognises the educational value of creating and sharing clinical cases, and MedShr is the first digital platform to offer accreditation for case discussion.

Medical professionals who create high-quality clinical cases can now receive thirty minutes of CPD credit that can be added to their training or appraisal portfolio.

“We are delighted to offer CPD credits for members to create and share their cases – we know that this is an essential part of developing and maintaining high-quality patient care,” says Founder and CEO, Dr Asif Qasim.

MedShr CPD accreditation has a simple framework, with credits awarded if a case meets the following criteria:

  1. Clinical case addresses a specific aspect of clinical practice or engages members in discussion on a topic within clinical practice
  2. Sufficient clinical information in the case description that may be supported by case images or videos to allow members to understand the context
  3. At least one specific question or discussion point
  4. Evidence that the case creator has reflected or engaged in discussion on the clinical issues raised

MedShr was developed to allow quick and simple clinical case sharing and discussion whilst protecting patient privacy and is now used by over 500,000 medical professionals around the world. It is GMC and HIPAA compliant in terms of patient privacy, data protection and information governance. It only takes a few minutes to create and share a case, and CPD accreditation can be requested with a one-click review.

The new MedShr Quick post system allows doctors to share cases as part of their daily practice. “Clinical case discussion is a powerful tool for doctors to learn from one another, says Dr Qasim. “Discussing cases allows doctors to reflect on their daily practice and translate evidence from discussion into better patient care.”
