  • Two UK medtech startups announce exciting new venture to improve communication between medical professionals
  • DrFocused’s will be providing encrypted private messaging for MedShr’s 250,000+ members

Two UK startups that provide digital technology for medical professionals, MedShr and DrFocused, have today announced that they will be working together to provide secure messaging to over 250,000 medical professionals, in addition to existing case discussion and networking on the MedShr platform.

Privacy and security of data are key concerns when it comes to the use of technology in healthcare, as the recent cyber attack on the NHS made all too clear. Both firms are fully committed to protecting patient data while enabling better communication between medical professionals. DrFocused’s new service will provide encrypted messaging that is compliant with all information governance guidelines, in addition to MedShr’s GMC and HIPAA-compliant clinical case discussion.

MedShr and DrFocused hope that the new venture will improve communication and collaboration between healthcare professionals. Over 250,000 members worldwide currently use MedShr’s private platform to share and discuss clinical cases, and secure member-to-member messaging provided by DrFocused expands the opportunities for education and training.

CEO of DrFocused Kit Latham states, “We are thrilled to be working with MedShr, a company that shares our vision of putting better technology in the hands of doctors to improve healthcare.”

Dr Asif Qasim, Founder and CEO of MedShr, says, "We are delighted to be working with the team at DrFocused! MedShr is committed to sharing knowledge and skills to improve patient care, and collaboration is an integral part of this."
