MedShr has won Silver for Independent Medical Education at the PM Society PMi Awards 2026. Reaching 374,961 unique healthcare professionals across 190 countries, the MedShr global IME program on respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in adults, “Global RSV Education”, was recognised by the judges for its reach and its demonstrable impact on clinical practice.
The award is a proud moment for the team, but the real story is the clinical gap the program set out to close.
RSV is increasingly recognised as a serious cause of illness in adults, yet it remains under-diagnosed and under-managed. Adults with comorbidities such as chronic respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease and diabetes are at high risk of poor outcomes, and many of those most likely to benefit from RSV vaccination are never offered it. For the clinicians who see these patients, in primary care, respiratory medicine, infectious diseases and beyond, the challenge is recognising RSV as a differential and knowing when prevention is indicated.
The program was designed to address these unmet needs in the diagnosis and management of RSV in adults. Education was delivered through eight MedShr Educational Posts and Clinical Cases and a dedicated Learning Module, using the case-based, peer-to-peer discussion that doctors use MedShr for every day. Rather than pushing information at clinicians, the program built learning around real clinical scenarios that specialists and generalists could discuss with colleagues around the world.
The results set it apart. The education reached 374,961 unique healthcare professionals across 190 countries, generating 1.4 million touchpoints with a 40% conversion rate against an industry benchmark of 10 to 15%. Evaluation demonstrated impact at Moore’s Levels 4 and 5, increasing knowledge and improving clinical practice for better patient care, and 100% of surveyed participants said they would recommend the education to a colleague.
Independent Medical Education is judged on whether it changes what happens in clinical practice. This award reflects the work of the MedShr team who designed, built and delivered the program, and the clinicians whose case discussions turned education into changed practice.
MedShr continues to develop independent, case-based education that reaches doctors where they already learn, on the wards, in clinic, and in discussion with their peers.
